Hamza Karimi, known as Magic Nape, is one of the most booked illusionists in the Netherlands. Born in Morocco and raised in Amsterdam-West, he followed a remarkable life path that deeply shaped his current success and calling as a performer.
A Magical Discovery
At a young age, Hamza moved to the Netherlands, where he spent his youth on the streets of Amsterdam-West. As he describes it himself: “A childhood like many others: mostly outdoors on the streets, pushing the boundaries of what’s allowed.” This changed instantly when he showed a couple of magic tricks to his friends one evening. Their reaction—silent and visibly overwhelmed—gave Hamza a sense of recognition and visibility he had missed in his youth. This moment became a turning point in his life, and magic became his passion.
From Amsterdam-West to sold-out theaters
What began as a hobby grew into a flourishing career. Hamza decided to take to the stage and share his personal story, supported by impressive tricks and illusions. His first show in Amsterdam-West sold out within weeks, and ever since, he has been drawing full houses night after night with his theater program as Magic Nape.
Inspiration and Willpower
On stage, Hamza shares his life story—about his background, his roots, and his challenging youth. Despite obstacles, his determination to make something of his life prevailed. He strongly believes that this potential exists in everyone: “A disadvantage is not a reason to stand still, but a motivation to get everything out of life and be successful.” With his performances, Hamza aims not only to entertain but also to inspire. His illusions are not just tricks; they illustrate and reinforce a message of hope, resilience, and perseverance. He has performed alongside well-known artists such as Boef and made a strong impression on ‘Holland’s Got Talent’. His sources of inspiration include his family and prominent rap artists such as Logic and Kevin.
Social Engagement
In addition to his work in theater, Hamza is actively involved in social initiatives. He visits (youth) detention centers weekly, where he gives workshops on magic and mindset. By sharing his knowledge and experiences, he hopes to inspire young people to discover their own potential and pursue a positive future.

On social media, Hamza regularly shares updates and insights under the name Magic Nape with his thousands of followers. His story and performances—both in theaters and at private events—continue to move people.
